“The perfect solution – also for vegetarians!”Ms. Christian, why did you want to lose weight? “In recent years I tried various times to lose weight, but always without lasting effect. Based on these experiences, I had already resigned myself to living with my excess pounds. The sense I had of being uncomfortable in my body continued to grow however: I felt bloated and had a feeling that certain foods weren't good for me, without knowing which ones, and in general I didn’t feel fit. I was looking for a solution that would help me permanently to feel healthy, fit and well in my body.” Since when did you have weight problems? “I was never ‘fat’, but during my younger years and later as a grown-up woman I had also never fit the ideal image. After starting my professional career I had continually put on weight. I worked a lot and didn't feel like practicing sport in the little free time that was left to me. A vicious circle! After a crash diet when I was 25 years old, I lost about 8 kilos in a very short period of time. I felt great – but it didn’t last long. As soon as I ate ‘normally’ again, the notorious yoyo effect set in very quickly, and I not only regained the lost weight but put on some! Since my sense of being ill at ease in my body continued to grow, aggravated among other things by frequent business trips and very irregular mealtimes, I registered for a nutrition consultation when I was 28. During these sessions, which were spread over several months, I learned a lot about a balanced nutrition and about my eating habits. This was an important step in the right direction, but I hardly lost any weight as a result.” Why did you opt for the Rohner Concept? “A colleague of mine had lost a lot of weight using the Rohner Concept. I asked her for additional information on the program, with the idea of passing this tip on to friends who had been trying unsuccessfully for a long time to reduce their weight. When I studied the website, however, I realized that the Rohner Concept might represent an ideal solution for me too. I was convinced by the fact that individual predispositions formed the basis of the approach and that an individualized food list was defined for each person. I hoped that it would help me to finally get clear about what the right foods were for me. I had the feeling I had finally found the ideal solution for myself and I registered immediately with Rohner.” How did you fare with the weight loss process? “When I saw my food list, I was shocked at first. Give up my beloved pasta? Not eat bread any more? And no more of the potato dishes that I had absolutely loved since I was a kid? When my doctor assured me that very quickly I would no longer have any desire for these foods nor for sweets, I only managed an incredulous smile. But already after the first week, after having fed myself strictly according to my ‘green list’, I had to admit that she was right! Today eating is much more fun. Basically, I don't feel any desire any more for foods on my ‘red list’. For instance, when I am invited to dinner, if I am served a pasta dish, it just doesn’t taste as good to me as it did before. Moreover I have noticed that quantitatively speaking, I eat more than I did before (i.e. before I started with the Rohner Concept), though of course only foods that are good for me. Since my first Rohner consultation in May 2004, I have steadily lost weight.” How do you feel today? “I feel very healthy, fit and well in my body. The new desire I have for exercise is an unusual experience for me, and regular practice of sport has assumed an important place in my life.” How have the people around you reacted? “The people in my environment have reacted with many compliments about my appearance. Many asked me about the secret of my success. And my fiancé finds me even more desirable than before. A lovely feeling!” |
